An outstanding career opportunity has recently become available with one of our most prestigious clients. The position available is for an experienced Materials Manager ba! sed at the companies state of the art facilities in Kidderminster. As leader of the materials team, successful candidates will take responsibility to implement develop, qualify and improve the manufacturing process of the materials found in rocket motors. This includes physical, chemical, thermal, erosion, mechanical and ballistic properties under extreme conditions of temperature pressure vibration and age.
Skills required
Candidates must be proficient in
- Project / Team management and leadership.
- Developing material and component manufacturing processes.
- Characterising the properties of ingredients and finished materials.
- Formulating polymeric insulation, double base/composite propellants.
- Adhesive bonding of polymeric components.
- Executing validation Plans and Preparing validation reports.
- Ensuring performance and quality is demonstrated scientifically.
- Providing support to the m! aterials creation in SAP to support production.
- Commu! nicating complexity with clarity.
- Material and component Fault diagnosis / rectification.
- Standard laboratory tests for physical and chemical properties.
- Ensuring all work is completed in a safe and effective manner.
