A leading manufacturer of special purpose equipment has a requirement! for a Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Manager (Designate)to join their SHE function at their Kidderminster based production facility. The role is offered on a permanent basis so would suit candidates looking for a stable career move.

This key role will take responsibility for all Safety, Health and Environmental issues of a complex manufacturing facility located on a large site. There company operate with a number of hazardous processes and materials and as such are a COMAH site

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and third parties.
• Ensure that the company complies with all health, safety and environmental law, in particular COMAH.
• Maintenance of the company's health and safety strategy including a plan for continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain a system for measuring, recording, monitoring and assessing health, safety and environmental performance.
• Control of the he! alth and safety budget.
• Management of SHE department ! staff.
• Prime contact point with external regulators.
• Advise MD and Senior Team on SHE related issues.
• Participate in and / or lead hazard studies for new plant and equipment

Requirements

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
• Professionally trained. (CMIOSH or equivalent)
• Demonstrable health and safety experience at a senior level
• Experience at a COMAH site
• Good communicator
• Strong strategic planner
• Ability to Influence at a senior level
• Previous experience of interfacing with external regulators
• Experience of using tools such as HAZOPS, FMEA, LOPA
