We are seeking a self-motivated Project Manager, Analytical Chemist, Senior Scientist to work within our Chemistry Group and liai! se directly with our major clients. As an Extractables & Leachables Scientist, the main purpose of your role will be to support sales objectives; deliver timely, high quality, value added projects; define technical scope of projects and work in close consultation with others on pricing, quotation development and delivery commitment.
BASIC: £30,000 to £37,000

My client is Europe’s leading independent plastics and rubber specialist organisation, providing research, technology and information services for polymer-related industries across all sectors including Pharmaceuticals and medical Devices.
JOB SPECIFICATION: This position will:
- Planning and executing projects in support of client needs. Types of projects incl! ude: developing and validating analytical methods under cGMP c! ompliance in support of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, including product development, testing, failure analysis and problem solving , impurity identification, extractable and leachable studies, structural characterization, and analytical testing.
- Provide and support analytical chemistry for pharmaceutical and medical device product development.
- Responsibilities will include HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS method development/validation for the analysis of drug content/Packaging/impurities of pharmaceutical / Medical products.
- Will hold a Degree in Chemistry or relevant scientific subject. A Higher Postgraduate Qualification is desired, i.e. MSc, PhD, but is not essential.
- Must have considerable experience in a technical / commercial role.
- Expertise in chromatographic quantitation techniques including HPLC, GC-MS, LC! -MS methods.
- Must be able to undertake technical and financial project management of active project work and ensures smooth transition from proposal to delivery to client.
- Must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to laboratory work, possess excellent communication and time management skills and be able to maintain a high standard of record keeping.
- An understanding of working within quality systems such as GLP/GMP would be advantageous as well as detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging and extractables and leachables guidelines and regulations.
- Must be able to work with external and internal customers to develop complex programs of work; communicating complex data and test approaches appropriately.
- Expertise in the analysis of data, from the qualitative to the rigorously statistical.
- Experience working on multiple assignments simultaneously.
This is a client facing role so the successfu! l candidate will need good Commercial acumen. Relocation assistance can be provided for the right candidate.
