One of the Midlands leading accountancy firms is currently looking to recruit an ambitious Accounts / Audit Senior at their Halesowen office. The company are well respected in their field having been awarded Accountancy Firm of the Year in the West Midlands for firms of up to 5 partners in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and again in in the category for more than 5 partners in 2013.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountancy professional with a background within practice to join a forward thinking firm at an exciting time in its development. The company provide leading business advisory, financial management and tax services to a range of clients across the Mi! dlands. Based out of their Halesowen office and reporting to t! he Accounts / Audit Manager, your role would entail providing a high quality accounting and auditing service to a portfolio of clients.
You will be responsible for the preparation of year end accounts, preparing VAT returns, plus planning and completing the auditing of statutory accounts to a consistently high standard. You will be expected to complete all work in accordance with the deadlines set within the client service level agreement, building effective relationships with clients and dealing with queries accurately and efficiently. You will also be tasked with supervising junior members of the team, reviewing work and assisting in their development.
The ideal candidate for the role will either be AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with practical hands on accounting and auditing experience, ideally within a practice. You must have experience managing the accounts of a portfolio of clients.
You will be a well organised individu! al, able to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively, with strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail. This is a client-facing role so excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels will be required. Excel skills are essential and experience with different accounting software systems (SAGE, Iris) would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
