Our client is a small independent company who offer residential, therapeutic care to children and young people aged 8-18 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Their homes are situa! ted across the West Midlands and each home accommodates up to four young people of either gender. They are now looking to recruit a residential support worker for one of their homes in the Kidderminster area.
The role is varied and will require the right candidate to be flexible with their working hours which will also include extra pay for overtime and sleep-inâs. You will be responsible for supporting the young people with their daily living skills in preparation for independence and the next stage of their lives, by providing both practical and emotional support alike. Engaging with the young people in their care is a key component of the role coupled with the ability to forge, build and maintain relationships, whilst creating positive boundaries. They are looking for candidates who have had previous experience in childcare, ideally residential, and you must be able to demonstrate a clear passion to working with children and young people. You will also have well de! veloped empathy skills when dealing with the children and youn! g people that they support and you will need to be flexible to do sleep ins and shift work when required.
