Significant contribution and execution of OCLCâs strategic sales plan in which cloud computing plays a major role. In coordination with the regional sales organization, the Account Manager UK is able to develop, manage and increase business in both the long and short term with major accounts and identify new target market opportunities.
The Account Manager UK reports to the Sales Manager UK & Ireland. It is a field-based position with a high proportion of time spent visiting customers on site, but the postholder will have either the OCLC office in Birmingham or Sheffield as their designated office location, depending on their geographic! al location. In the first instance, the focus of this role is ! working with academic customers and prospects across England. The postholder should be located on territory.

Responsibilities
You will develop and maintain a close relationship with decision makers at board level in your customer portfolio and understand their strategy and processes in order to define and manage a successful business plan. Good understanding of OCLCâs services and products, in particular how cloud computing can be employed by libraries and what needs to be considered before moving into a cloud computing solution. Realizing sales plans and effectively leading sales process and coordinating internal resources involved. Acquisition of new customers, advising and informing them about products/services. Keeping up to date with knowledge of OCLC products and its developments. Delivering monthly reports of the progress of the sales plans and sales targ! ets. Representing OCLC at conferences, exhibitions and seminars. Actively contribute to the successful execution of the UK & Ireland strategic plan.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Masters degree, or equivalent academic/work experience. Five years experience in a similar position with a track record of success, or equivalent expertise. A broad knowledge of technologies relevant to library markets. Willing and able to travel, both within the UK and to internal meetings in Europe and worldwide as required. Excellent sales and communication skills: sales ability/persuasiveness, formal presentation, negotiation, tenacity, strong partner and customer relationship skills, contributing to team success.
